CASE V invites you to submit your best work in communications, alumni relations and development to the Pride of CASE V District Awards program.
PLEASE NOTE: PAYMENT AND ENTRY DEADLINE IS FRIDAY, JULY 30. Payments and/or entries received after the deadline will disqualify the entry. No exceptions.
Eligibility
Advancement professionals who are employed at CASE V member institutions are eligible to submit entries. There is no limit to the number of entries per individual or institution.
General guidelines
- All materials submitted to the Pride of CASE V Awards Program should have been completed primarily between June 30, 2009, and July 1, 2010.
- Work entered WILL NOT BE RETURNED. Please do not send original artwork, photographs, slides or other one-of-a-kind materials.
- All entries (abstracts and entry materials) should be placed in a notebook, binder or folder of some kind. The outside of the binder and entry materials should be labeled with: Category number and title, name of entry, name of institution.
Note: There is no separate entry form.
- Do not mount entries on boards.

Entries in the following categories should be sent with a brief abstract:
32. Excellence in Design, Brochures; 33. Excellence in Design, Series; 34. Excellence in Design, Posters; 35. Excellence in Design, Miscellaneous; 37. Excellence in Photography; 38. Best Graphic Identity/Logo; 39. Best Illustration/Graphic; 40. Excellence in Feature Writing, Individual; 41. Excellence in Feature Writing, Series; 42. Excellence in News Writing; 43. Excellence in Research/Scientific/Medical Writing, Individual; and 44. Excellence in Research/Scientific/Medical Writing, Series -
The brief abstract should include:
- Title of entry
- Category number and title
- Institution
- Name and contact information for individual submitting entry
- Names of all individuals responsible for entry
- Budget
- Staff involved (writing, photography and design work by freelancers or outside agencies are not eligible for these categories)
- Measures of effectiveness, if applicable

Entries in all other categories should include an abstract of no more than four pages, outlining the following:
- Title of entry
- Category number and title
- Institution
- Name and contact information for individual submitting entry
- Names of all individuals responsible for entry
- General description of the entry
- Goals and objectives of the project
- Description of how project fits into overall institutional and/or advancement goals
- Audience
- Total number of professional and support staff who worked on the program; please note the use of freelancers, outside agencies or volunteers
- Program budget and unit costs where applicable. Do not include staff salaries or postage in calculating total cost and cost per unit.
- Any special circumstances or challenges faced
- Documented results, measurements of effectiveness
- NOTE: The abstracts for gold award-winning entries will be posted on the Pride of CASE V Web site. Gold winners will be contacted and asked to submit their abstracts to the awards chair via e-mail attachment.
Deadlines
Entries may be submitted between June 1 and July 30. Entries are sent directly to the judging coordinator for each category. Entries must be received by the judging coordinators by 5 p.m. July 30th. Late entries will be disqualified. DO NOT SEND PAYMENT WITH ENTRIES.

Entry fees and payment
All institutions submitting entries must complete an online payment form and make payment by credit card only. The fee for each entry is $35. Payments not received by the July 30th deadline will disqualify the entry.
Where to send entries
Please note that categories are judged by different coordinators in different locations. Be sure to send entries to the correct judging coordinator for your category and include the required abstract information. Judges may disqualify incomplete entries or entries submitted in the wrong category.
The judging coordinator in each category will assemble a panel of at least three experts, including advancement professionals, to judge the category. All judges are from outside the CASE V district. Awards may be given at the Gold, Silver and Bronze levels.
Notification of winners
All award winners will be notified by mid-October 2010. Unfortunately, it’s not possible to contact all entrants regarding their award status. Awards will be presented at the closing luncheon of the 2010 CASE V District Conference at the Sheraton Hotel in Chicago, Ill.
